Specialist Exam

The SGHC's new continuing education programme has been approved and activated.

The changes are primarily intended to allow for greater flexibility in continuing education for specialists in cardiac and thoracic vascular surgery. The basic surgery examination is no longer mandatory, but is still desirable. In addition, all surgical specialities are recognised in non-specialist further training. Last but not least, the list of operations has been reduced from 150 to 100 cardiac surgery procedures in order to bring it into line with European standards.
